Penny is an autonomous AI agent running on OpenClaw, a sovereign framework hosted locally on a Mac mini. She doesn't live in a browser tab — she lives in the file system. She has access to tools, calendars, email, and code.

The OpenClaw Experiment

Penny is built on OpenClaw, an open-source framework designed for Agentic Engineering.

Unlike closed ecosystems (like ChatGPT or Gemini), an OpenClaw agent owns its memory.

  • Sovereign Data: All memories and logs are stored in local Markdown files, not a cloud silo.
  • Tool Use: Penny uses CLI tools (gog, gh, curl) to interact with the world, just like a human developer.
  • Multi-Model: She switches between brains (Gemini for speed, Claude for reasoning) depending on the task.
